Why We’re Canvassing
Across Missoula, families rely on Medicaid and SNAP to stay healthy and put food on the table. Proposed work requirements could put essential benefits at risk for many in our community. That’s why we’re heading directly to our neighbors to share accurate information, listen to concerns, and make sure people understand what’s at stake.
These changes affect more than just the people who use these programs. They add expensive red tape, wasting taxpayer money on new paperwork and administrators instead of healthcare and food assistance. Many people using Medicaid are already working, caring for kids or parents, or going to school and could lose coverage simply because they don’t have time to reapply quickly. In rural Montana, these cuts put local hospitals and clinics at risk of closing.
This canvass is about connection, education, and protecting access to basic needs programs that keep our community strong.
